VESTOSINT® PA12 Nylon Powder Made from base polymers, it is the core product of Evonik (formerly Degussa) in Germany and offers a variety of physical, chemical and electrical properties that make it suitable for a wide range of applications.
Main properties of nylon powder:
Bonds well to metals
High impact strength
High mechanical strength, good elasticity, high surface hardness
Low water absorption and water vapor permeability
Good water resistance, even in hot or detergent water
Low thermal conductivity
Good electrical insulation and dielectric strength
Comply with food law requirements
Easy to clean
No bacterial growth
A. Dipping VESTOSINT® coated surfaces maintain these properties even at temperatures well below freezing. In addition to these considerable practical advantages, coated metal also has an attractive appearance. VESTOSINT® dipping powders are available in more than 1500 colour formulations and special colours are available on request.
B. Fine powder We call nylon 12 powder with a particle size of less than 100 μm fine powder. VESTOSINT® fine powders have been used as coating additives since as early as 1980. They are also well suited for the production of thermoplastic composites consisting of glass, carbon, aramid or steel fibers, as well as miniaturization and electrostatic flame spraying processes.
Various particle sizes and particle size distributions of VESTOSINT® fine powders can be used individually or in admixture. Our customers can take advantage of this for very precise fine-tuning of the surface structure, and the polyamide powder is incorporated into the coating system through functional groups. This has resulted in wear-resistant and highly elastic coatings on a wide variety of substrates. VESTOSINT® fine powder service, for example, as a bedding or texturing agent, brings the following Improvements:
Increased abrasion resistance
Increase flexibility
Reduce dust absorption
Reduce friction
Nylon powder is used in the following industries:Coil Coating
Wood paint
Coatings on rubber surfaces
Coatings for Packaging Foils
Composite material
VESTOSINT® fine powders are also very suitable for the production of thermoplastic composites of glass fibres, carbon, aramid or steel. Unlike thermoset plastics, these materials can be remelted and reshaped. They can be wrapped, pressed, laminated or woven and used in the construction industry, aerospace, automotive and offshore industries.
C. Rotational molding We also have specification powders for rotomoulding that can be used for interior coating of containers.
D. Superfine powder For cosmetic additions.
E. 3D powder Raw material for SLS laser selective sintering.
